ABOUT 407

The Story

407 (four-oh-seven) is a half-hour comedy-drama about friendship, love, queerness, identity, and family through the lens of four Black best friends living in Orlando. The series explores how even the best intentions can have unintended consequences—and how growth often looks messy, hilarious, and beautifully human. At its core, 407 celebrates perfectly imperfect friends learning to live their truths unapologetically

The Why

As a Black, gay man who once called Orlando home for a decade, 407 is deeply personal to Brandon. Orlando is often seen only through the glow of theme parks, yet beyond that façade lies a vibrant, diverse community full of stories rarely shown on screen. Through this series, Brandon wants to highlight the city’s overlooked Black culture, its intersection with queer identity, and the resilience of communities fighting erasure amid gentrification and recent legislation. Orlando was also home to Pulse nightclub. 407 honors that legacy of love, community, and the power of chosen family in the City Beautiful.

Inspiration & Comp Titles

If Insecure and Run the World had a baby in Orlando, raised by Harlem, you’d get 407— messy, heartfelt, and full of Southern flavor.

Tone & Style

The visual tone of 407 mirrors the energy of Orlando: vibrant, colorful, and alive. The soundtrack spans soul, hip-hop, R&B, alternative, and pop, using music to reflect each character’s emotional rhythm and personality.

On-screen text messages and digital moments are woven into the storytelling to heighten intimacy, humor, and drama, allowing the audience to experience conversations in real time.

Structure

407 is a single-camera comedy-drama that balances sharp humor with grounded, heartfelt moments. The proof-of-concept promo opens with dynamic montages that introduce each character, offering a quick, vivid sense of who they are as individuals.

Interwoven group moments highlight the chemistry, camaraderie, and tension that define their friendships—capturing both the laughs and the emotional stakes that drive the series forward.
